Position Overview

We’re looking for a public relations senior manager to contribute to the strategy and execution ofintegrated public relations initiatives for agency clients, particularly in the destination and hospitality industries. As a member of the PR team, this position is responsible for managing multiple accounts and assisting with the development of strategic communications plans that advance client business objectives and influence public opinion. This position requires a creative and collaborative team-oriented approach with a solid understanding of our company goals and values. This position reports to our Public Relations Supervisor and is a full-time role.

Essential Functions

Serve as the primary client contact and manager of the client relationship, providing leadership, solid counsel and overall shepherding of the relationship
Maintain a strategic view of clients’ business and set key performance indicators for accounts that align with client business goals
Write and edit PR plans, press releases, pitches, press kit materials, etc.
Brainstorm and design creative, PR-worthy events, campaigns and promotions
Pitch and maintain relationships with top-tier media at the local, regional and national level
Consistently secure significant press across online, print and broadcast outlets
Facilitate and attend media interviews for clients
Manage organic social media communities and incorporate digital PR, influencer and social tactics into overarching marketing plans for select client accounts
Write high-quality media materials including bylined articles, award and speaking submissions
Develop and deliver client presentations
Manage monthly reporting
Serve as an industry expert that consistently monitors news trends relevant to 62ABOVE’s clients and competitors
Utilize social media to regularly uncover and engage with influencers/media and provide industry thought leadership
Participate and lend expertise to new business development
Mentor junior staff and collaborate with other 62ABOVE disciplines
Attend and actively seek out professional growth education programs

Qualifications & Education

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the public relations field
National travel and consumer media pitching experience
Superior writing, communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of digital and social media activations and how to utilize these platforms for public relations purposes
Experience managing and developing influencer marketing programs with proven results
Previous experience supervising and mentoring junior staff
Be flexible, collaborative, and driven to achieve results
Strong self-motivation and work ethic
Extra points for Spanish language skills
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a closely related field is ideal but not mandatory
