Social Media Manager

Position Overview

We’re looking for a social media manager to develop and implement social media strategies to grow our clients’ followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, customers, and active fans. You bring a knowledge of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, can work equally well in a group and independently/remotely, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience. This position reports to our CEO.

Essential Functions
  • Build and manage social media profiles and daily community management responsibilities for a variety of clients and industries
  • Implement social media strategies across multiple channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Tik Tok, Nextdoor, etc.)
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community; source content to share on clients’ social platforms
  • Create and plan social editorial calendars and posting schedules
  • Identify and partner with influencers on client campaigns; repost influencer and user-generated content on social media
  • Report on social engagement/growth metrics for clients; manage weekly/monthly reporting and be familiar with native social insights and analytics
  • Listen and engage in relevant social discussions about our clients, competitors, and/or industries
  • Run regular social campaigns and track their success, ranging from influencer partnerships, to Twitter chats, to Facebook Live sessions, as well as manage the content and links posted through these and other channels
  • Manage boosted and paid social posts and budgets; partner with our Paid Media team to integrate paid social tactics into larger media campaigns
  • Work alongside other marketers and content producers to help distribute content that educates and entertains
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from social networks to client sites, online events and ecommerce
  • Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach our target buyers
Qualifications & Education
  • BA/BS degree (degrees are not required)
  • 3-4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent understanding of social media marketing and proven ability to execute campaigns across marketing initiatives, including experience with multiple social media platforms
  • Familiarity with social media reporting and standard social metrics (engagement, following, conversions, etc.)
  • Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
  • Strong writing skills for social posts and blog posts
  • Previous experience with Canva, HTML, Adobe Design Suites, WordPress preferred
  • Be flexible, collaborative, and driven to achieve results
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic
  • Extra points for public affairs experience and Spanish language skills

Compensation

  • Salary dependent on experience
