The Future of Influencer Marketing: Predictions & Trends
for 2021 and Beyond

Amid the difficulties of 2020 for many industries, the role of digital and influencer marketing actually accelerated. Pandemic restrictions led to shifts in consumer behavior, which led to a major focus on digital and social media as the cornerstones of many brands' marketing strategy.

Baja California - The Road Awaits

In partnership with the tourism bureau for the State of Baja California, the 62A PR team helped launch the state's rebrand on April 12, which includes a brand new logo, website and name. Previously known as Baja Norte, the northern region has returned to its historic name of Baja California. In addition to the new look and name, the team worked closely with Tijuana-based production agency, Spécola, to launch "The Road Awaits”, a video campaign created to remind U.S. travelers of the beauty and adventure that lie beyond the border. The press release announcement was picked up by more than 140 outlets, including mentions in TravelPulseBorder Report and Fox 5 San Diego.
The Update

Hot things cooking up in the 62ABOVE creative kitchen:

Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates

We're pleased to begin work with Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates (SANCA), the non-profit organization that manages operations of Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. Other than being located in one of the country’s most beautiful areas, Nathan Benderson Park is home to world class rowing facilities, live entertainment, food festivals and community events. 62A will be helping to establish a brand identity and marketing programs for SANCA as it focuses on growing the Park.
Balboa Park

At our own Balboa Park in San Diego, two of the park’s largest support groups have merged to combine strengths and resources for the future needs of Balboa Park. The Balboa Park Conservancy and The Friends of Balboa Park are joining forces on July 1, with a mission to promote, support, fund, implement, facilitate, and oversee projects and programs to restore, preserve, maintain, and improve park land, buildings, and infrastructure of Balboa Park.

Parker Foundation

It's a major milestone when a venerable San Diego non-profit like The Parker Foundation celebrates its 50th anniversary. To mark this occasion, they asked us to help them create a new brand and website. Check out our handiwork here and help them celebrate 50 years of giving back to the Greater San Diego community.

Stay tuned for our national ad campaign created for Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Filming throughout the area’s iconic terrains was an awesome experience we can’t wait to share. Cannery Row, Pebble Beach, Big Sur and Carmel-by-the-Sea all in one production schedule? You better believe these spots will be gorgeous. The campaign breaks April 25.
Our Dream Destinations

We asked our team to send in their top dream vacations once the pandemic has ended, and these were our top results!

Team Member Spotlight

Pierce Cooley
Executive Producer
Hometown: Born in San Francisco, grew up in Sacramento, became an adult in LA, and fell in love with San Diego.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Costa Rica! We visited last year (right before lockdown), and fell completely in love. Good people, good food, and even better cocktails! Oh, and the biodiversity ranging from tropical rainforest to desert to beach is a big plus too!

Most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten: Probably when my friend's dad challenged me to a crab eat-off at a backyard BBQ at their house in Boston. I don't even particularly care for crab, but that dang competitive streak...

What are you listening to right now - and why: Zoom calls ... cuz ... Covid. Oh, and an episode of the Armchair Expert podcast is probably on.

What are you most passionate about at work: I'm a producer, so I live for the moment when the camera starts rolling and the director yells 'ACTION!' for the first time. All the worries in the world seem to fall away, and the fun begins!

If you were an animal, what would you be: I've always wanted to be able to fly. Frigates are birds that rarely flap their wings, and one has even been tracked staying aloft for over TWO MONTHS. That's my kind of cruise.

Surprise party for your birthday - yes or no: Who me? Attention?! Ok fine, surprise me.

What was your first job: sold melons at my grandpa's roadside fruit stand!
