Save the Inventor is a movement aimed at protecting the US patent system and fighting IP infringement. As Save the Inventor’s creative agency, we developed a campaign that would grab people’s attention—including members of Congress and other government officials—and make them stop and think. Our solution? Flip our message on its head. So, we told the patent story… from the bad guy’s point of view.

A cheeky way to fight Big Tech.

We knew we needed something provocative; eye-catching; double-take-worthy. Our campaign, “Thanks For Your Idea,” was just that. We created visuals inspired by retro propaganda ads and took on a charmingly sinister voice of Big Tech—a voice that thanked inventors for doing all the hard work and applauded weakening patent laws for making it easier for Big Tech to steal their ideas. Through a digital and social media marketing campaign (that included a fun and memorable animated video), we told a big, bold story—with a strong call to action for people to join the cause.
